This resurrection life you received from God is not a timid, grave-tending life. It’s adventurously expectant, greeting God with a childlike “What’s next, Papa?” God’s Spirit touches our spirits and confirms who we really are. We know who he is, and we know who we are: Father and children.
Sometimes reading a familiar verse, with an unfamiliar translation helps it come to live again, helps us see what’s actually there. We all know we are Children of God, but do we take hold of all that means for us?
The mature children of God are those who are moved by the impulses of the Holy Spirit. And you did not receive the “spirit of religious duty,” leading you back into the fear of never being good enough. But you have received the “Spirit of full acceptance”,

The Hopefuelled are fuelled by and because of our identity in Christ, that’s the starting point. The Hopefuelled are heirs of a King, the Highest King! They don’t have to live in fear anymore. That’s Good News!
“You split the sea, so I could walk right through it,
my fears are drowned in perfect love!”
This line stands out for me in the song ‘No Longer Slaves”. God has taught me so much through the story of Moses, and what he has taught me has also transformed me. The line refers to Moses and Isreal crossing the Red Sea. They had been slaves, working hard for little gain. They were striving to appease a Pharaoh. God rescued them, calling them out of Eygpt and towards the promised land. They were fuelled by this Hope, yet God wanted to take them deeper – and be fuelled by Hope in who He is and who they were to Him!
They were escaping from slavery, but suddenly Pharaoh was after them. They were trapped; sea in front of them, Pharaoh behind them. Death on both sides. Yet God says, move on forward. It is Him who fuels up, not the situation.
We are praying for you over advent, that you will continue moving forward, away from fear towards Him and that you will know your fears drowned in perfect love
We are no longer slaves to fear
We are the Hopefuelled
